Another away trip, saw the Lions travel North to Negombo to play Cosmos / Esimo FC, and things are not getting any cooler....

Another good effort for the 4th concecutive away game, although we only just managed to scrape a team together after a few late withdrwals and poaching from the oppo...

On another blistering afternoon, i do not remember much about the game, as i was rallying the troops, although a few mirages did cross my path........The first half was all about Lions possession but we could not get the ball in the net, Liam, Rich, John and Daz all going close with mainly long range efforts, the keeper did not have much to do which told the story.......HT 0 - 0

The 2nd half was much more even, and the Lions deservidly went ahead mid way through the half, when a set play saw Rich cross a neat ball from a freekick which John challenged with the keeper, the ball spun free to Daz, who slotted the ball home from 10yds out....1 - 0 Lions...

This seamed to spur on the opposition, and within 5 mins they were level after a mix up between midfield and defense, saw the Cosmos forward race away and finish well... 1 - 1

The game thne went end to end with neither side able to get the winner, and the Lions team dug in for a deserved draw, thanks to some good defending from the Back unit which is now becoming a strong part of the current squad.

Thanks to Manic from the Eskimo camp for laying on the after match refreshments, although i'm sure what i did drink was drained out of me by the giant mosquito's.........

Team; Asanga (loaned from Opposition), Seaman, Kaz, Steve H, Jules, Vegard, Rich (capt), John, Laurent, Daz (1), Liam (eventually) and Roshan (loaned frpm opposition)....
