Dear Karsten,
Soon after the Tsunami struck Sri Lanka and the Asian region the tourism industry dwindled. The electronic media has been giving 24 hour coverage on the Tsunami disaster. The result has beeen good and many countries are coming to the rescue of Sri Lanka with relief supplies flowing in.
The bad side to this is that the travel industry was badly affected as the picture created by the media was as if the entire country has been affected. At present we are feeling the brunt of it with low occupancy in most beach hotels.
The Blue Water is one of the few beach resorts that has been least affected. We bounced back and had the operation in full swing within a few days. Now we are open for business with all the facilities namely the main dining room, Coffee shop, Gym, Tennis and Squash courts, swimming pool and the Discotheque and all the rooms are operable.
I am sure you could assist us by what ever way possible to enlighten the global traveller that the salt water is gone and The Blue Water is back. Regards and best wishes,
Sam Samarasinghe
