| I try to get any news about the situation at Club Bentota and what's happend with the staff - because we have some private contacts to them. I can't find out an email adress - only one of athula in aluthgama but it doesn't work. |

Have you tried to send a mail to one of the other places in Bentota for ex.: Club Villa Bentota 009434-2275312 FAX0094-034-4287129 clubvilla@sltnet.lk
I am sure they can help.

Hallo Karsten, wir erhielten gestern eine Weihnachtskarte von einem Freund dort - allerdings am 24. 12. abgestempelt was uns nun auch nicht viel weiter bringt. Vielleicht könnt Ihr über seine Adresse etwas in Erfahrung bringen :

If anybody is interested in this :
SIRI vom the bar - MILAN from the reception and ANTON - one of the taxi drivers are all ok as well as there families. We got phone calls and letters from them. Greatest problem : the club is damaged and nobody have a job now |

Ich habe gehoert, dass die Menschen dort sich daran machen, den Club wieder aufzubauen.......kannst du das bestaetigen?

If someone knows Upul de Silva or just "Fred" (He is also a driver down there and has a reggae band) he is fine...as well as his family - but they have lost everything. |

| Bin gerade von einer Tour die Kueste entlang bis Bentota zuruckgekommen. Im Grossen un Ganzen schaut es wesentlich besser aus als von Hikkaduwa in den Sueden. Einige Stellen hat es allerdings boese erwischt. Vor Allem die Gegend nach der Bruecke in Kalutera Sued. Vom Club sollen nur noch ein paar Mauern stehen, selber gesehen hab ich das allerdings nicht, da ich auf der Suche nach offenen Hotels war. |

Hast Berichte gehört, wie es mit den Anlagen auf der Landzunge zwischen Aluthgama und Bentota-Ganga aussieht?

Genau diese Stelle meinte ich (Hotel Bayroo, Barberyn, Ypsilon, eins der confifi hotels etc.), das einzige offene Hotel dort ist das Bavarian Guest House. Am Barberyn Reef wird gebaut ansonsten allerdings schauts schlimm aus. Den Club erreicht man nur mit dem Boot, da aus der Landzunge eine Insel geworden ist.
Diese zwei Kilometer sind noch immer voellig verwuestet allerdings wird heftig gearbeitet. In der naeheren Umgebung gibt es allerdings auch viele Hotels die kaum oder nicht betroffen sind.
Das wird schon wieder. |
