Nice to see the Lions preparing for Saturday's Challenge with a Challenge of their own - the Cheers Jumbo Fish and Chips Clear-your-plate-and-eat for-free-challenge. For the sake of saving about a quid, boys who will be named and shamed shortly ate a shark, a two kilo bag of spuds and two loaves of toasted bread each! And believe it or not, they cleared their plates. One competitor had help in the chip department from another passing squad member whilst another created new shinpads for himself by concealing toast in his socks. Perhaps it should be renamed the Cheats Fish and Chip Challenge? To be fair, the toast did re-appear later, to be consumed with a glass of sambucca.
Said one of the challengees, "Fish and chips and sambucca - it doesn't get any classier! And I'm classy. I've been to Wakefield." I happened to mention to one of the better halves - "We had an excellent meal last night". she said "I know. I saw it all over the bathroom floor this morning. I didn't know Cheers did mushy peas!"
Excellent prep guys - we think this should become a Lions tradition. Pre-match anyone?
There's a prize for anyone who can name the two Lions players who achieved this magnificent feat (one in under thirty minutes). Lay your bets, boys. |
