some excellent finishing topped off another dogged defensive display on Saturday. The Lions raced to a 3-0 lead in the first half, with a classic striker's goal by Chicksy, an unstoppable header from The Gaffer and another fine finish by Mucky, but started the second half a little wobbly, with Ratmalana S.C. throwing everything they could at the startling Asanga in the nets. The inevitable happened, and all of a sudden it was 3-2 and the Lions were looking shaky. Captain Hicks to the rescue! 4-2!!! A fine win!!!
Just what we needed ahead of this weekend's game, the game we've all been waiting for - the mighty F.A. cup clash:
Opposition: New Rome S.C.
Venue: Godalkele Ground, next to the Public Bus Station, Negombo
Date/Time: Saturday 2nd April, kick off 4:30pm.
As per transport, a meeting of the minds at Kinjou's after Saturday's game decided upon getting a fine A/C bus to take us all up there, so let me know if anybody else will be coming along for support - I need to know numbers before we can book the bus. We'll probably leave Colombo between 2:00-2:30pm. Right cup heroes, get on it! |
