23 clubs in the fray for President's trophy
Kotte Football League, fresh from their winning the Best Football League 2004 award So we are playing in the best league of the island now? Ach mein Gott.lion
, presented by the Football Federation of Sri Lanka at their AGM, will conduct the President's trophy football championship 2005/2006 with 23 clubs in the fray.
In their quest to win this prestigious trophy, 6 new clubs have enrolled to gain recognition. British School in Colombo, SOS S.C. Diyawanna United SC, Old Palians SC, Piliyandala SC and Mattegoda United SC. Nothing about the Lions here but I also noticed that the match form last Sunday said British Lions at the top and Himmeldonnerwetternochmal I didn't like that.lion
Under the stewardship of DIG K.P.P. Pathirana, assisted by General Secretary Telesphor Dias, the League had reached its zenith to draw attention of the governing body for football in Sri Lanka, the Football Federation of Sri Lanka to award the prestigious trophy having competed with 47 football leagues situated islandwide.
Last year league conducting Schools tournament won the best award this year with 23 clubs, 20 schools 03 girls teams and social activities will be more active with coordinator Ananda Peiris being appointed to cover Piliyandala and Kesbewa and claim the best award 2005. |
