For the third time in 3 weeks, the Lions scored 4 goals in a game. There were 3 new players this week, Johan, Johnny and Nicolas. After 1 minute, Karsten was subbed for Nick due to sudden and unexplainable pain. Nick then swapped right back with Mohan. Lions started the first half very well by dominating most of the time. The first goal was scored quite early by Matthew... a nice lob. Things were moving quite fast due to our solid defense and good coverage from the midfielders. The chances were increasing and the lions were very close to scoring at different times. Paul had a great header from a long ball which was just over the bar. Alli had a good shot on the right and almost scored. Then, Paul scored the 2nd and 3rd goals with the first beating three men and the second a scrappy tap in.
It was 3-0 at half time for the Lions and a quiet one for Asanga II. Marlon was subbed for Chandu. The second half was much more difficult and we could feel tiredness from the first half efforts. Ransilu S.C. were more determined and started pushing a lot without great results. A few fouls were commited and there was a bit of tension on the pitch. Ransilu scored after a beautiful shot and Asanga II could do nothing about it. Matthew was subbed for Johnny in the 60th minute and Paul for Johan in the 65th. They brought freshness in the game with Jack who was everywhere. After a free kick on the central line, Matthew who was subbed back on again, went alone to score the final 4th goal of the game.
A very nice performance by the Lions!
