Well, what a delightful afternoon. How kind of those onlookers to stamp out the fire on my head. I didn't even realise it was on fire.
And then a free Sri Lankan morris dance, which had been displayed with manic flag waving anytime we looked like scoring, was continued by the linesman as he comically patted Martin and Matthew about the bonce.
Mo, obviously being out of practice, was given the opportunity to review his medical knowledge by fixing his own lip.
As if this wasn't helpful enough, some of the audience, obviously big on road safety, tested the authenticity of Karsten's helmet and kindly threw mine at ... I mean to me. (I'll pay for the mirror by the way Karsten) The traffic must have horrendous outside the ground because our gentleman friends were adamant that we wait in the ground until the hazardous traffic conditions had abated.
And who knows, I could have got lost and ended up anywhere had the kind gents not escorted me up the road. I don't think the silly sausages realised I had a motorbike at the pitch! Still it was a lovely gesture.
Well let's hope our future games are rgreeted with the same kind of hospitality.
