|
|
At a score of 4:3 for Eagle SC with 10 min. left a foul by an Eagle player set off a chain of events.A number of intoxicated spectators broke onto the pitch and started attacking Lions players (in a, hadn't it been quite a scary experience, quite pathetic way). The score so far:
Lions: Doc Mo got set upon and escaped with a bleeding lip, Andy got knocked about the temple a bit, the linesman ( bastard) cracked his flag first on Martyn's head and finally broke it on the Gaffer's without causing much damage (surprise, surprise!!), two slightly damaged bikes and a rip, I believe,in the hood of Jack's three weeler.
On the other side is a chap who got 3000Rs. off Andy for the three teeth he lost, one chap which I believe I've got on Video who will be loosing some if I ever see him again and a big chap in a burgundy t-shirt who I am deeply thankful to.
All not nice, but handled, if you think about it, extremely well.
Lions rule and we nearly had them guys!! |

Well said Lion.
A fantastic game of cat and mouse or should i say Lions and Mice until the unforunate fracas.
Oh well i suppose we can all learn from it and i will wind up the oppo a bit less too.
I think there were about 2 minutes left in reality not 10.
Up the Lions

great summise LeftBack,
VERY well handled indeed, given that half of Rajigiriya was down there chucking flip-flops at us.

| I think that there is no reason to hide the incident. The Lions behaved as a team admirably calm, yet with determination (finding the mascot, thanks Mahlon), no-one took up the challenge and at the end I believe that this "Ghandiism" saved our butts. It will hopefully make us more aware of the position we are all in. |

Hey all - former lion Kev from Canada here (yeah! long time....)
Boy, I didn't understand that fracas detail, but things seem to be getting serious.
Good luck!
