A great game played at a fast tempo. Unfortunately the grass hadn't been cut so it did slow down the progress at times.
The match started tight with the Lions having the lion share of possession. :oops: Tackles were hard and it wasn't long before we awarded them a penalty which was brillantly saved low to Asangas right.
The Lions woke up and score a great goal through Mahlon. Yes i said MAHLON. A delightful chip over an onrushing keeper!
Young Silva came back to level the game with a well worked move that cut through the defense.
HALF TIME
Second half the Lions came back again and a whipped in cross from Chicks was steered into the net by a defender. OG :?
Young Silva had no real attack from that point on and were left to try from distance. They were awarded another penalty with Asanga doing enough to put the young striker off who blasted it over the bar. A great game by our spindly keeper saw him get MoM. (yes he should write the report :x )
Against the run of play a shot from all of 30 yards by Y S dipped under the bar to level the game at 2:2 with 10 minutes play.
A ball knocked down the left to Mucky who cut inside and after a scamble managed to knock it goalward with his LEFT foot. It rolled along the goal line (ahhhhh but not in!) for Chicksy to nip in and blast it the 2 inches in needed to count as a goal, our third and the winner! :lol:
Good game played in fine spirits.
