Another good game for the lions on saturday. We started the game with 8 substitutes and with Karsten as a keeper waiting for Assanga to arrive. The lions were dominated from the beginning of the game. It was a small ground and we managed to play very close from each others. The ball circulation was particularly nice and the lions were progressively bringing the danger on the Colombo Uni side. Paul scored the first goal after a well constructed phase. He scored another one a few minutes later with his left foot but he was unfortunately offside. Lots of changes were made during the game and in a way, the Lions managed to keep a good fitness for the whole game. In second half, Lions were still dominated however, Colombo Uni managed to score a goal to bring the result at 1-1. Karsten did an amazing shot after a few dribbles and the Uni keeper had to do an impossible save to stop it. On the right wing, Chandu realised a great long ball for Nic who just had to push it in the goal. Lions did very well with a really powerful shot of Keith, a nice header of Martin on the post. Mike gave some very good balls on his wing as well. Nic finally scored the last goal. Assanga and the defends were working very well to avoid another goal at the end.
A good result for a game in a very friendly atmosphere. Well played lads |
