The place has got it all: It's near by, easy to find and to get to. There is enough space for a Basketball-sized pitch and the audience would be enormous. Might be able to gang up with some of the bars to provide food and drink and 230V power for a couple of lights and some music/announcements as well as clearance with the local authorities.
How does this sound?

Gents,
The first Colombo Lions Beach Football Tournament is already in its formative stages...
Carlsberg put me onto the idea when I met with them in April, as they've done a Rugby 7s Beach tournament before.
The Place: Negombo
The Date: February 2006
The Wear: Bikinis and Tanga Thongs
It'll hopefully be a two-day (Sat/Sun) event with a Beach Barbeque Party on Sat night. |

Guys
If required attire is bikinis and thongs then most of the Lions should definitely not attend. Marlon and Prev will be okay though!!! |
