Another defeat for the LIONS but not taken lying down! This time against the Old Josephians - all former pupils of a local school who have stayed and played together for some years now. They are well know to each other; a 'well oiled wheel'; and played a pretty decent game o footie! Weakened by injuries and others out with family commitments, the LIONS took to the pitch with only 1 sub on the bench who was quickly used due to the reoccurrence of a recurring injury to Chandu! Good 1st half display overall, no real chances on goal but some positive attaching moves. However, a well worked ball through midfield caught out the defense and asanga (weakened by Flu) was unable to stop the final shot. 1-0 half time.

2nd half again was no one-way thing for the Old Josephians. Some well worked balls force some frantic saves from their keeper and we won a number of corners. However, during the course of the half, and usually against the run of play, we lost another 4 goals - their strikers were a bit handy, apparently playing regularly for the national squad. Not to be outdone, the mighty LIONS roared at the end and slotted a goal from what could arguably have been the finest move of the game; slick passing through the middle saw the ball reach Mucky on the right; a sharp ball through to the feet of 'the Toe' who finished with a solid strike aimed under the keeper. Nice one!!!

Again, improvement on previous performances but ultimately an overall lack of fitness saw the LIONS fade at the later stages. One feels a victory is on the horizon!? U19 side this Saturday so lets see a good turn out.
