We wish to gratefully acknowledge receipt of your email and at the outset wish to thank you for your thoughtful concern. Our telephone lines were out of order and hence the delay in replying your mail.
Although the Royal Palms buildings and property on the ground floor suffered damage, we did not have any loss of life to our guests as well as our personnel. 24 rooms at Royal Palms were partly damaged. We have now cleared all debris and both Hotels are in operation at the moment.
The Tsunami disaster to all of us Sri Lankans was a severe blow and particularly to us in the tourism sector. However, we hope this would not affect our business in the future and we would be able to slowly and steadily have our valued guests back in our country and Hotel.
Several of our personnel living in the costal area were affected and some of them lost their homes partly or fully. We are in the process of drawing up a relief programme for them and trying to help them in whatever possible ways. Should you be interested in contributing towards this, please let us know, so that we could forward to you our bank details together with our relief programme.
We once again thank you for your kind concern and look forward to seeing you back at the Royal Palms in the not too distant future.
Best regards
