INFORMATION OF STATUS OF HOTELS IN THE COASTAL AREAS
We thank you for your visit.
We regret to inform you that on 26th December 2004, in the morning hours, we experienced the impact of Tsunami Tidal Wave which was totally unexpected.
However, the damages cost to us was very minimal when compared to the other hotels in the island. The wire fence of the hotel has been washed off. The parapet walls of both sides have been collapsed. Swimming pool was full of sea water. 10 cabanas and the garden was covered in 3 ft of sea water and several furniture & fittings of the cabanas were damaged, including the 72 air conditioning split units but we are in the process of reinstalling the air conditioning plants at present.
In the meantime, we wish to state that the new wing which consists of 70 rooms was unharmed by this unexpected disaster.
The Management and the staff of Villa Ocean View worked right through out to clear the compound and repair the damages and the hotel is in fully operational status. Currently we are in a position to cater for all our clients.
