DE GEA INSISTS HE IS HAPPY AT UNITED
Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea has insisted he is very happy at the club and sees himself spending more years at Old Trafford, quashing rumors of a likely exit from a club where he has called home since 2011.
The Spanish shot-stopper was signed by legendary boss Sir Alex Ferguson from Spanish La Liga giants Atlético Madrid in 2011 and has since had tremendous individual seasons that have made him regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the game.
During that period, he has also made a name for himself and cemented his place in the Spanish national team side as the first-choice goalkeeper in the past years. He has also flourished under multiple managers for both club and country and has had an outstanding career so far.
De Gea was in a reflective mood and spoke about his decade-long stint with the Red Devils, insisting that the club is his home and he enjoys being a huge part of the massive club.
Speaking in an interview, De Gea said his time at the club has been wonderful, and that he remains the same person he has always been today but in a more mature form. He stressed that he left Atlético as a young and hungry goalkeeper moving to a massive club in a new country with a different culture, a different language, and said he tried so hard to develop and contain all the challenges.
According to Manchester United's official website, De Gea included that it has been a number of great years with great experience and that he has grown a lot as a player, while also enjoying the long ride.
He continues that he wants to win more accolades, and of course, more titles with the Old Trafford giants.
Manchester United played their 8th game of the season against West Brom on Saturday and secured a 1-0 victory - their first at Old Trafford in the Premier League this season.
