Paris St Germain wrapped up the French league title with eight games remaining and this will in turn help the club in the Champions League according to captain Thiago Silva.

PSG have become the overwhelming dominant force in French football. They have won the league title in the last four seasons and they continue to do so with an ever-increasing margin of victory. The club has won the title for the 2015-16 season with still eight matches left. This gives them the flexibility of being able to rest players for the midweek Champions League matches.

The likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Angel di Maria, and Lucas Mora continue to play an important role in PSG even though the club has numerous other stars. Players like Edinson Cavani have been unable to get any game time due to the presence of these players. Laurent Blanc is now expected to rotate the team ahead of Champions League matches. The team has qualified for the quarter-finals of the competition after getting past Chelsea 4-2 on aggregate. The league victory was achieved after a 9-0 thrashing of Troyes. Ironically, the team has not scored more than eight goals in all of its home matches until now. PSG have just scored more than this figure in one match.

"We've finished in the best way possible. When you start a season, you always think of winning titles." he told the Manchester restaurant offers website. "This year we worked very hard to win the league as quickly as possible. The first goal of this team is the Champions League, but we don't forget Ligue 1. The season is not finished. We also want to win the Coupe de la Ligue, the Coupe de France but also the Champions League -- even if it will be difficult," said Silva. Meanwhile, the club has announced that it will not be renewing the contract of Maxwell.
