THIAGO STUNS WITH DE GEA SELECTION

New Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara has left a lot of the Reds fans stunned after he named Manchester United shot stopper David De Gea in his five-a-side team ahead of his Liverpool teammate Alisson Becker.

Thiago Alcantara opted for a goalkeeper from arch rivals Manchester United when he was asked to name his five-a-side team by Liverpoolfc.com. According to him, he selected his team based on the chemistry he has with the players.
Manchester United goalie David De Gea was once considered the best in the game alongside Bayern Munich skipper and goalkeeper Manuel Neuer but things have changed in the last few years with the emergence of goalkeepers like Liverpool shot stopper Alisson Becker, Barcelona goalie Marc Andre TerStegen and Atletico Madrid goal minder Jan Oblak. David De Gea is still considered one of the best in the Premier League though his place as the Manchester United number one could be under threat from Dean Henderson, who returned to the club from two good years spent on loan at Sheffield United. David De Gea is also not certain of his place as the number one goalkeeper for his country, Spain ahead of the European Championship later this year. However, Liverpool player Thiago Alcantara believes that David De Gea deserves a place in his team. David De Gea and Thiago Alcantara play together for the Spanish national team whose manager is ex-Real Madrid and Barcelona player Luis Enrique.
Apart from David De Gea, his brother RafinhaAlcantara of PSG, Jonathan Dos Santos of LA Galaxy in the MLS and Leeds United forward Rodrigo all made the team alongside him. He didn't pick any of his Liverpool teammates but he was full of praise for left-back Andy Robertson whom he described as a funny guy. Thiago Alcantara became a Liverpool player last year after a £20m move from Bayern Munich.
